| Our journey is just 170 miles farther north today, very hot and sunny, sorry family and friends in UK we know you are having a horrid summer so far.... This was an intriguing building that we spotted as joining SR66 at Cadillac the sign said Grandview Technology Centre...future home of Fox News but not been able to find out much more about it...... On the I-75 just short of the town of Gaylord we crossed the 45th Parallel, half way between the equator and the north pole.... |

| Another intriguing thing in Michigan is the amount of axels/wheels on their trucks... Yorkieman's research into the affectionally nicknamed "Michigan Trains":"Michigan allows trucks up to 164,000 lbs on its roads if the truck uses 11 axles, vs the typical 80,000 lbs on 5 axles. Since road damage is directly proportional to the fourth power of axle loading, having one of these 11 axle trucks actually does less damage to the road per pound of cargo than the corresponding 2 lighter trucks would be. Aside from the reduction in pavement damage, it also reduces shipping costs".... And that's the way it is folks...have to say there are hundreds of them !!! |

| Agriculture and farms on our journey today and I keep forgetting to mention the acres and acres of perfectly formed christmas trees...wish we could bring one home.... This is the Mackinac Toll Bridge on Interstate 75.... Building began in 1954 to connect the upper and lower peninsula of Michigan across the Straits of Mackinac...opened in November 1957 it was then the longest suspension bridge in the world now currently the 5th... |

| Quite surprised with our extra axels that is was only an $8 toll... Our home for the next week is Lakeshore Park Campground on Lake Michigan with good views from our site of the lake, photos to follow on next post but for now it's time for Yorkieman's "job well done" beer... I don`t think the Michigan trains would get very far in Cleobury Mortimer.Trust you have arrived at new campsite and all is good.Views of Lake Michigan impressive.Keep the facts coming.Weather forecast here finally heating up with sun,can`t wait.

Will be a short break in transmission !! No wifi at campsite and our dongle/jetpac has very weak intermittent signal !!! We are in the Boon Docks !!! But great scenery and luckily not near the floods in Wisconsin...but we did have very heavy rain yesterday...temperatures today only reached 55 !!
